Our philosophy, to offer you a specific metrology for your needs and based on research. NeoTIM, your thermal measurement solutions.

MEASUREMENTS OF THERMAL PARAMETERS

The purpose of this type of study is to :

  • acquire data for simulations, calculation codes
  • to study the thermal behaviour of the tools (mould) in actual use
  • diagnose and optimize the process.

To do this, we rely on the expertise of the Centre de Recherche Outillages, Matériaux et Procédés (CROMEP) of the École des Mines d 'Albi-Carmaux, which has developed with the Cooperative Research Center on Cast Metal Manufacturing (Australia) a measuring sensor of the dynamic heat exchange coefficient at the piece/mold interface.

This diagnostic tool consists of a probe equipped with micro-thermocouples, an optical fiber associated with a pyrometer, and a graphical interface for signal processing. This device makes it possible to measure the temporal variations of the exchange coefficient at the interface of the mould and the part during the entire duration of the casting process: casting and solidification. The sensitive part of the probe is made of the same material as the mould in which it is placed. It is unbuttoned to the inner wall of the mould for an instant detection of the thermal phenomena producing there. This sensor is therefore weakly intrusive and therefore does not disturb the process. In addition, its highly optimized design gives it the same mechanical and thermal resistance as the mould
